Speaker Highlights Phenomenal Civil Rights Women

Ella Baker, Septima Clark and Modjeska Simkins may not be household names, but these women were significant figures during the Civil Rights era, and helped influence the movement behind the scenes.
Dr. Jacqueline Rouse, a Georgia State University African American History professor, will be the guest lecturer Thursday, Feb. 20 to discuss their stories, as well aswomen today who have been influenced and inspired by previous generations to fight for injustice. Her talk, “Phenomenal Women,” will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in GPC Dunwoody’s Auditorium, C-1100.
