"The Magic Flute" Opera Staged at GPC

Georgia Perimeter College music faculty members Tamara Watson Harper, Brian Bonin, Patrick Hutchinson and Kathy Farmer hit the stage in Peach State Opera’s production of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 19 in the Cole Auditorium of Georgia Perimeter College, Clarkston Campus, 555 N. Indian Creek Drive, Clarkston.
With dragons, spirits, enchanted animals, bird-people, an evil queen, a kidnapped princess, a handsome prince –and the magic flute, this fairy tale opera offers something for everyone. The production is a fully staged English language version that runs less than two hours.
The production features two GPC students, Fatimah Mustafaa and James Simpson, as well as former GPC music students Benjamin Durrett-Smith, Ebony Collier, Jeffrey David Gibb, Justin Carr and Damien Rasheed.
Also singing/directing are music faculty from Georgia Southern University, the University of West Georgia, Georgia College and State, Lee University and the University of Tennessee.
