GPC Celebrates International Diversity in November

Dancing, food, film, culture and entertainment from around the world will all be on display at Georgia Perimeter College Dunwoody Campus this month. November is International Education Month, and Dunwoody Campus is planning a number of cultural and international activities to celebrate GPC’s international diversity.

“International Education Month is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide and celebrate the vast international diversity on our campus,” said Eric Kendrick, International Education Month chair. “Our film, ‘The Harimaya Bridge,’ is an excellent film for students and the community to attend. It’s produced by Danny Glover. I’ve already seen it, and it’s great.”

Among the most interesting events planned for the month, Kendrick said, is the Japanese Garden lecture by the distinguished garden designer from North Carolina.

“Dunwoody Campus has had a long and effective relationship with the Japanese Consulate in Atlanta,” Kendrick said. “This will be a great lecture.”

November’s lineup also includes a Japanese Film Festival (shown on all five campuses), a Brazil festival, a Vietnamese festival, a Native American festival, an International Student Cultural Celebration and many other smaller events.
GPC also will feature the debut of “Diversity at GPC: A Documentary,” a student-produced documentary, which can also be viewed on YouTube.
