Office of the President
Welcome Letter to the GPC Faculty, Staff and Students
I am honored to have this opportunity to return to Georgia Perimeter College as interim president. Having spent the earlier half of my career at GPC, I care deeply about the college, about its mission to provide access to a college education for students who might otherwise not have that opportunity, and about the people here who work hard to achieve that mission.
GPC has always had a reputation for academic and instructional excellence. That excellence endures.
GPC is the Hartsfield-Jackson of the University System of Georgia: A point of departure, a final destination, and a tremendous transfer hub. From Alpharetta, to Dunwoody, to Clarkston, to Decatur, to Newton, GPC has been the better way forward for almost two generations of students. We are working now to prepare for the next generation.
The year ahead will be both challenging and productive: We will have our regularly scheduled visit by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. We will be implementing our Complete College Georgia plan to increase graduation and transfer rates. And we will be making the necessary financial adjustments owing to resource constraints.
I look forward to working as your colleague to meet those challenges and become an even stronger institution.
