Georgia Perimeter College Regents' Engineering Transfer Curriculum (RETP)

Qualified students seeking a bachelor of engineering degree may study at Georgia Perimeter College with the Regents Engineering Transfer curriculum. Upon successful completion of the GPC/RETP engineering curriculum described below, students will be admitted to the Georgia Institute of Technology to complete the requirements for a baccalaureate engineering degree. It is expected that students on this track, like other Georgia Tech graduates, will normally require four to five and one-half years to complete the degree requirements, depending on their pre-college preparation, involvement in extra-curricular activities, and engineering major.

Georgia Perimeter College faculty and administration work closely with Georgia Tech's faculty to assure a curriculum which is well-coordinated with both GPC and Georgia Tech. Once in every spring term students will visit the Georgia Tech campus and meet with advisors of their anticipated major.

To be considered for admission as a Dual Degree or RETP student, a student must meet the following requirements.

 

1)      Completion of the GPC-RETP required course list within the following parameters:

 

·         Students must complete EACH of the first three groups (ENGR, MATH, SCIENCE) of the required course list with a minimum group GPA of 3.0

·         Students must complete the first three groups of the required course list with a minimum COMBINED GPA of 3.0

·         Students must complete the fourth group of the required course list with a grade of C or better in each course

 

2)      Completion and submittal of the Dual Degree/RETP recommendation/application form to a coordinator.

3)      Complete the Georgia Tech Transfer Application (online via: http://www.apply.gatech.edu) by the October 1st application deadline for Spring semester and February 1st for the Summer and Fall semesters. You will need to select the RETP transfer option and supply your coordinator’s name and email address.

4)      Pay the application fee on line

5)      Submit official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended. If you have attended any other college or university other than your home institution, it is necessary for you to send those transcripts as well. For institutions outside the US, a Course-by-Course with GPA evaluation from either Josef Silny (www.jsilny.com) or World Education Services (www.wes.org) is mandatory.  The evaluation should be sent directly to:

6)      Completion of the On-line recommendation form by a coordinator. Your coordinator will be emailed the request based on how you filled out your on-line transfer application.

Those students admitted to GPC and who satisfactorily complete the GPC/RETP engineering curriculum, are also encouraged to earn an associate degree at GPC as indicated on the required course list.
