My first years at GPC, I worked with George Sanko. What an experience! We used to have those double sections – 100
or more students. He is such a character and would tell funny jokes – though pertinent
to biology – such as explaining that when pollen falls on you, you are covered
with sperm. I think he broke every meter stick in the science department,
slamming them onto desks when he was trying to make a point.
The students loved him (most). He was
one of the first faculty members to use a computer and he created his own test
bank. He had a computer program that would generate tests including mixing up
questions and answers for the multiple-choice questions. That was all
DOS-based, so we have really come a long way since then.
