There’s nothing like a night at the movies or a weekend matinee.  The phrase “the magic of the movies” is often used to describe the movie-going experience.  Why?  Perhaps it is because we take time to leave our cares behind and embrace the life of someone other than ourselves.   Perhaps it is because we use the stories from the screen to examine our own place in life.   Most likely…it’s for both reasons.  This world-café approach to the day uses a combination of small group and large group discussions sprinkled with guest speakers and spends a few hours featuring movie clips that teach lessons that interpreters can learn about the work that they do.  At the end of the day, relish that feel-good after-movie moment but realize, it might just change the way you approach your work tomorrow.
