Catalog Description

This course is designed to introduce the students to the knowledge and skills necessary to develop a fitness program through use of a vigorous swimming exercise program.  Students must be able to swim since lap swimming will be an integral part of the course.

Expected Educational Results

After completing this course, students will be able to:

1. Identify the components of a personal exercise program
2. Develop understanding of terminology in a fitness swimming program
3. Demonstrate proper techniques for various strokes
4. Develop a personal daily fitness swimming program
5. Develop an understanding and properly apply all parts of physical fitness including, cardio respiratory

    endurance, flexibility, muscular endurance, strength, and body composition
6. Improve their cardiorespiratory fitness level
    program

7. Develop and understanding and properly apply all parts of physical fitness including,
    cardio respiratory endurance, flexibility, muscular endurance, strength, and body
    composition
8. Improve their cardiorespiratory fitness level
