Catalog Description

This course is a team activity designed to teach students the fundamental skills and rules of volleyball in order for them to become participants and spectators for this lifetime team activity.  More specifically, the course covers the following skill areas of forearm passing, overhead passing, spiking, blocking, serving, serve reception, offensive systems, and defensive systems.

Expected Educational Results

As a result of successfully completing this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Execute the following skills: forearm pass, overhead pass, spike, block, and serve
  2. Describe the rules of volleyball
  3. Discuss the aspects of offensive and defensive systems
  4. Demonstrate the fundamental of team play
  5. Improve their cardiorespiratory fitness level
