About MESA

One of the country's most innovative and successful programs, Mathematics, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) provides support and resources for students who have been traditionally underrepresented in STEM areas.  The support  that these students receive helps them excel in math and science and also graduate with baccalaureate degrees in science, engineering, computer science, and other math-based fields.  MESA provides academic support to students through three programs: the MESA Schools Program, the MESA Community College Program (MCCP), and the MESA Engineering Program.

The GPC MESA program, supported by the USG STEM Initiative, is housed on the Clarkston Campus and is based on the highly successful MESA MCCP. GPC MESA students benefit from academic excellence workshops; academic advising/counseling; assistance with the transfer process to a 4-year institution; career advising; summer research/internship opportunities; and, linkages with student and professional organizations.
