Installing Blackboard Collaborate Launcher

What is Blackboard Collaborate?

Blackboard Collaborate or BBC, is an online digital whiteboard that students have access to for free, that allows students to have one-on-one tutoring online. They will also have access to online study sessions that will be hosted throughout the semester.

What is Blackboard Collaborate Launcher?

The BBC launcher is a utility for Windows and Mac. It provides a convenient and reliable way for students to launch your BBC web sessions. Whenever you click a link to join room or a recording link, BBC checks to see if you have the launcher installed. If you do not BBC will prompt you to download it. Once the launcher is installed, clicking a session or recording link triggers the download of a .collab file. The launcher uses this file to launch BBC using a known stable version of Java. Because the launcher includes the required java, you do not need to install and maintain the system version of Java.
