Biology

There are many
different Science Programs of Study in which to follow. You can earn
an Associate in Arts in such areas as Biology, Chemistry, and
Physics. Alternatively, you could earn an Associate of Science
degree in such areas as Pre-Medicine, Pre-Dentistry, or
Pre-Pharmacy. GPC also offers Associate of Science degrees in career
program areas of Nursing and Dental Hygiene.
COURSES
BIOL 1402 - Cell Biology and Genetics Credits: 3.00
Students investigate principles and applications of cell biology.
Topics include the scientific method, cell structure and function, basic
chemistry of life, gene structure and function, cell division, and
genetics. This course is designed for non-science majors. Lecture:

BIOL 1403 - Diversity in the Living World Credits:
3.00 This course introduces the student to the variety of living
organisms, including animals, plants, fungi, protozoa, algae, and
bacteria, and the biological principles that unite them. Attention is
given to the evolution of these forms and their ecological interactions
with each other and with humanity. This course is designed for non-science
majors. Lecture: 3.00 College: Ga. Perimeter College

cells and tissues, skeletal system, muscular system (animal dissection and
muscle identification using human models), nervous system with emphasis on
the brain and sense organs. Lab: 3.00 College: Ga.
Perimeter College Division: Division of Science
BIOL 1612 - Human Anatomy & Physiology II Credits:
3.00 This course is a continuation of BIOL 1611 and covers the
concepts of human anatomy and physiology that were not considered in BIOL
