The computers in the Decatur Campus Library are available primarily for library research and other school related uses, such as completing assignments and accessing online course sites. All library users are welcome to use the computers, with use prioritized in the following order:

  1. Students, faculty and staff.
  2. All other University System of Georgia students, faculty and staff.
  3. The general public, including K-12 students.
When higher priority users working on course-related projects are waiting for computers, other users may be asked to give up their computers.

Library computer users must:
  • Provide your own storage media to save your work. The library does not provide or sell discs of any kind and is not responsible for lost work. Work saved on the computer desktops will be erased when the computer is restarted.
  • Use your GPC AccessCard or V-Card to print. A V-Card machine is located by the library photocopiers.
  • Follow the Standards Of Conduct For Use Of Georgia Perimeter College Computers (GPC Student Handbook, Page 67).

Library computer users must not:

  • Make any attempt to damage computer hardware or software.
  • Download or install any software to the computers’ hard drives.
  • Use library computers for any illegal or criminal purpose.
  • Violate copyright laws or software licensing agreements.
  • Engage in any activity that is deliberately and maliciously offensive, libelous, or slanderous. This includes accessing ANY website containing adult or pornographic images or other content.

Additional Information:

  • Due to the open nature of the library, the computers DO NOT play audio.
  • Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult while using the library and computers in accordance with Georgia Perimeter College policy.
