General Information

The Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is pleased to offer Georgia Perimeter College faculty the opportunity to apply for full or partial funding to travel to teaching and learning conferences. Essential to this offer is the understanding that the faculty member must agree to present at least two(2) CTL-sponsored workshops, based on material from the conference, to benefit the faculty of Georgia Perimeter College. The amount of funding is dependent upon four main factors: 1) The relevance of the conference to teaching and learning in a broad sense (not discipline-specific) 2) the quality and relevance of the accompanying workshop proposal to teaching and learning at GPC, 3) whether the faculty member is attending or presenting at the conference, 4) the availability of travel funds in the Center for Teaching and Learning budget. The Center for Teaching and Learning Advisory Committee will review applications and submit recommendations to the CTL Director on the allocation of funds to faculty submitting applications.

Since all CTL funding ultimately must contribute to the development of the faculty of GPC, additional information will be required with the application:

A) Narrative Attachment: In a one-paragraph statement, please demonstrate how your attendance at the conference will prepare you to offer a CTL-sponsored workshop that will promote innovation/excellence in teaching at GPC. B) Completed CTL Workshop Form: Indicate the proposed dates, times and campus locations for your workshop(s) at GPC and provide a brief workshop description.

Submission Materials Completed CTL Travel Funding Application, Copy of Conference brochure (i.e. Call for Papers, Program) Copy of Abstract or Paper (if presenting) Narrative Statement (see paragraph above) Copy of Completed Prior Approval Form (submitted by Supervisor), Completed Budget Transfer Form (Submitted by Supervisor), Electronic copy (MS-Word or PowerPoint preferred) of the workshop to be offered, prior to the date of offering.

Workshop Agreement

I agree to present two (2) CTL-sponsored Workshop at Georgia Perimeter College, in consultation with the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning, in return for full or partial financial support for professional travel.
