Historical Newspapers
The ProQuest Historical Newspapers Databases gives access to scanned images of entire newspapers as they appeared when originally published. You can read them using page-by-page browsing, just like reading a paper in its original print form, or search them for specific information
- Open the database from the library homepage.
- Type in your search terms.

- From the list of results you may select to view either
the article alone or the entire page.
Browsing Formats within ProQuest Historical Newspaper Databases
Page View is a low resolution image navigation format. Use Page View to browse a page or newspaper issue quickly, scanning for articles that interest you. As the mouse moves over the page, ProQuest will highlight the various articles. Clicking on the article will take you to the Full Text format.
Page View or Full Text are both high-resolution PDF images of the complete article. From within the PDF screen you may print, email, or save your article.
