Step by Step with Net Library
NetLibrary is a collection of electronic books available through GALILEO, GIL-FIND@GPC, or its own URL. Any one may access NetLibrary, though access at home requires a free account and password. Because the University System buys specific NetLibrary collections, NetLibrary does not contain much material published after the year 2000.
- There are three ways to access NetLibrary:
b) Search for NetLibrary books directly through GIL-FIND@GPC by including the word, NetLibrary. To find books on fire in NetLibrary, search fire AND NetLibrary.
c) One can also search NetLibrary via the URL: http://www.netlibrary.com, or by selecting Databases A-Z in GALILEO, choosing N, and then clicking NetLibrary.
NetLibrary appears as a cobalt blue, emerald green and white screen.
- To access NetLibrary books found via GIL, click on their
blue titles and then on the phrase, An electronic book accessible
through GALILEO; click here, near the bottom of the book entry screen.
- To search for books within NetLibrary itself, rather than through
GIL-FIND@GPC, type
one or two keywords that describe your subject in to
NetLibrary's Basic Search box. Then click on Search.
Note: Searching NetLibrary from your home computer requires a free
account and password that Net Library lets you create by
clicking the small Create a Free Account text link
in the upper right corner.
- To search for a book with a particular title or by a particular author,
adjust the scroll bar on the left of the Basic Search Box to read

summaries, and cover pictures such as the one below.

page as you see it by clicking NetLibrary's Print button.
Due to copyright, NetLibrary lets you print only sixty pages per hour from any single title.

in the upper left corner of the screen.
- To end a search in NetLibrary, click your browser's Home icon or simply close your browser tab or entire browser.
