Getting Started with a GIL PIN
As of January 12, 2010, you need a personal identification number or PIN to open your GIL account or to get the GALILEO password. This handout details how to get your GIL PIN.
- Open GIL Classic@GPC through a link on the library's web pages or via
https://gil.gpc.edu
In the medium blue square on the right of the first GIL screen, click Access my GIL Account.
- Fill in your student ID (This is the number on your J-card or your 900 number) and also put your last name on the form.
-
Click Get My PIN at the bottom of the page.
- GIL then emails a random PIN to the email account that
you have listed with the library. This is your GPC email.
- Check your email for a letter from daemon@gilatuga1.galib.uga.edu.
Inside is your PIN.
- Log in to your GIL account using the new PIN.
- Once inside the new GIL account, press the small blue button with yellow letters that says Change PIN.
- Your PIN can include letters as well as numbers to make it easier to remember. Create a new PIN, remember it, and it is yours.
