Getting Started with a GIL PIN

As of January 12, 2010, you need a personal identification number or PIN to open your GIL account or to get the GALILEO password. This handout details how to get your GIL PIN.

  1. Open GIL Classic@GPC through a link on the library's web pages or via https://gil.gpc.edu

In the medium blue square on the right of the first GIL screen, click Access my GIL Account. The blue square with a GIL account link.

  2. Fill in your student ID (This is the number on your J-card or your 900 number) and also put your last name on the form.

Here is where you fill out a form to get your PIN

  3. Click Get My PIN at the bottom of the page.

  4. GIL then emails a random PIN to the email account that you have listed with the library. This is your GPC email.

  5. Check your email for a letter from daemon@gilatuga1.galib.uga.edu. Inside is your PIN.
