GREG MCLEAN,
Assistant Professor of Music.
Professor
McLean, originally from Louisiana, grew up in Chamblee, Georgia. After
graduating from Chamblee High School,
McLean attended Georgia State University where he earned a Bachelors Degree
in Music Education (1979).
McLean attended Florida State University where he earned the Masters of Music
degree (1982) in Music Composition.
After
freelancing as trumpet player for several years in Atlanta, McLean left for
the University of North Texas, where he pursued post-graduate
work in Jazz Studies and Composition. After a year at North Texas
(1985-86), McLean left to play cornet in the Peabody
Ragtime Ensemble in Baltimore, Maryland. After almost a year in Baltimore
and several months freelancing in Orlando,
Florida, McLean returned to Atlanta where he has been a freelance trumpet
player, composer and arranger.
