Leventhal, Amy

AMY LEVENTHAL: Composer, Violist, and Teacher.

Ms. Leventhal received her B.M. from Oberlin Conservatory and her M.M. from Indiana University. She was Assistant Principal Violist with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for twenty years.

Ms. Leventhal has been on the adjunct faculty of Georgia Perimeter College since Spring Semester 2010.

Ms. Leventhal's most recent compositions include: "What I am thinking about" for viola and piano, "Hawks to Hummingbirds: for Coltrane and Parker", for baritone, alto saxaphone, and piano, and "Worlds of Beauty": A Song Cycle of three songs for Soprano and Harp.

Ms. Leventhal will be performing in a Viola and Piano Recital in the evening of April 2nd 2012 in the Recital Hall of the Fine Arts Building on the Clarkston Campus. Ms. Amy Dorfman, Professor of Piano from the Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University, will be performing this April with Ms. Leventhal.
