SINISA CIRIC received his undergraduate degree from the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad (Yugoslavia) and master degree from University of Georgia. He is currently pursuing DMA degree in violin and viola performance at University of Georgia in Athens studying with world renowned professor Levon Ambartsumian (student of Kogan and Yankelevich). Mr. Ciric attended master classes and played for William Preucil and Jean-Marc Philips Varjabedian.
Mr. Ciric is concertmaster of Rome Symphony GA, New Atlanta Philharmonic, and Gwinnett Ballet Orchestra. He appeared as a soloist with New Atlanta Philharmonic, Rome Symphony Orchestra and Georgia Philharmonic as well as Bach Festival Orchestra, GA.
As a member of ARCO Chamber Orchestra Mr. Ciric performed in Carnegie Hall and was featured as soloist on ARCO’s most recent recording of Vivaldi’s concertos for two, three and four violins.
He can also be heard on several CD recordings of New Trinity Baroque ensemble on period instruments as violinist and violist.
He is founding member of Balkan Quartet with whom he regularly performs across USA presenting music from Eastern Europe arranged for string quartet. For the most recent performance at Kennedy Center in Washington DC, Balkan Quartet was invited by Serbian Embassy. They also performed at Piccolo Spoleto chamber series as well as Art Club of Washington “Passport to DC” series.
Prior to coming to USA Mr. Ciric orchestral experience involves Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the Symphonic Orchestra of the Radio-Television of Serbia, and the Opera Orchestra of the National Theatre. While performing with the Symphonic Orchestra of Serbian Radio Television, he cooperated with many national and international conductors, such as Zubin Mehta, Christian Mandeal, Gyula Nemet, Milen Nachev, and Mikis Teodorakis. Mr. Ciric performed as a member of Bellingham Festival Orchestra. Under the direction of Maestro Michael Palmer the Bellingham Festival Orchestra brings together principal players from major American and European orchestras and exceptional musicians from other local, regional, and national ensembles.
Mr. Ciric is Artist Affiliate at Emory University and teaches violin, viola and chamber music at Oxford College of Emory University as well as Georgia Perimeter College where he is in residence with members of Balkan Quartet.
