Topics or areas of interest relating to the practice of library and information science technology will be covered.  Subjects vary depending upon demand and timeliness.  This course is intended for practicing Library Technicians (or Assistants). This course may be repeated with permission of a member of the LIST program curriculum committee.

Students will develop skills and an understanding of the role of Library Technicians in the following ways:

I. Through group discussions on the topic of the course.
II. Through assigned readings on the topic of the course.
III. Through completion of a term project on the topic of the course.

I. Assigned projects will vary according to course content and course plan of individual instructor.
II. Departmental Assessment

A. Every two years a department committee appointed by the Library (LIST) program Committee will select a representative sample of the course materials for each topic covered during that time period.

B. The selected course materials will be evaluated according to the topic description presented to the Project Coordinator at the start of the term preceding that in which the course topic is offered.

C. In addition, the Board of Regents will review LIST every seven years.

USE OF ASSESSMENT FINDINGS:

The Library Program Committee will use the information gathered from the departmental assessments to revise the course outline and course syllabus as needed.
