The password changes
each semester.
Currently enrolled students, currently employed faculty and staff, or GPC retirees may request the password online, through "
My Account" in
GIL@GPC. They may also receive help obtaining the password from any GPC Library Reference Desk.
To access GALILEO databases when you are not on campus, you must use your GPC username and password and/or the GALILEO password. Full instructions for off-campus access can be found
here.
Georgia citizens not affiliated with a University of System of Georgia
institution may obtain a password for GALILEO use from their
local public library.
How to request the password online:
-
Access the GPC Libraries homepage or
GIL@GPC directly.
-
If accessing from the GPC Libraries homepage, go to the column labeled "Find Articles."
-
Click on the "Request the GALILEO Password" link.
-
Enter your patron barcode, PIN, and your last name. (Your patron barcode is the
same as the GPC-ID number, or 900#, on your GPC JCard.) Click "Login to My Account".
-
Click "Request" in the top menu.
-
If the password does automatically not appear in the drop down menu, select "
GALILEO Password" and press "OK."
-
A screen will appear with the current password.
- If you see the following image, you may have some problem with your account, such as a lost item. Check the "My Account" section for any blocks and contact your campus library's circulation department to learn how to clear them up.
If you do not know your library PIN or if you have a problem with your library account, you can access GALILEO through iCollege.
- Log into iCollege using your GPC username and password. If you do not know your GPC username and password, go to the Get My Login Page.
- From the My iCollege screen, click on the GALILEO link listed under Campus Bookmarks. The current GALILEO password will be sent automatically, you will not need to type it in.
