Intercampus Loan

What Is Intercampus Loan?
Intercampus loan allows you to request books from one GPC Library and have them delivered to another GPC Library. The service is available to GPC faculty members, staff members, and currently enrolled students.

Why Use Intercampus Loan?
Have you ever searched the GIL catalog just to find that the book you want is at another campus? When this happens, you can drive to the other campus and check the book out, or you can place an intercampus loan request.

How Long Does It Take?
Requested materials should arrive within two to three working days and will be held for you at the Circulation Desk for one week. Bring a photo ID to check out your items. You wonít be notified when materials arrive, so check your GIL Account to see their status.

Request A Book
  • Find the item you need in GIL-Find.
  • Check to see if itís available at your campus before placing the request.
  • If itís not at your campus, click on the "Place Request" link in the Holdings information.
  • Enter your patron barcode, PIN, and your last name. (Your patron barcode is the same as the GPC-ID number, or 900#, on your GPC JCard.)
  • Click "Login".
  • Under pickup location, use the drop down menu to select the correct campus library. (The default location is Clarkston).
  • Submit the request.
  • Your intercampus loan was successful! Hooray!

Check the status of your request by clicking on the My Account link at the top of the page. Watch this space to see when your book is ready to be picked up.

Request An Article
If you need a magazine or newspaper article that is available at another campus, ask for assistance at the Reference Desk. You will need to provide the article title, magazine title, page number(s) of the article, issue number, volume number, and publication date.

What if I can't find what I need at any GPC Library?
No problem! Just search the GIL Universal Catalog to find the item and place a GIL Express Request for it. If you cannot find the item in the GIL Universal Catalog, GPC Libraries also provide Interlibrary Loan Services.
