Financial Aid Freeze Date
The Financial Aid Office will freeze summer 2013 enrollment hours early morning on June 13, 2013. The information below will answer any general questions you might have. If you have additional questions, please contact your Campus Student Financial Aid Office.
- Students who register for Full term and/or First Half classes prior to June 13, 2013 and who add classes on or after June 13, 2013 and have a valid 2012-2013 FAFSA on the freeze date will not be eligible for additional federal funds. Students must be registered for classes before June 13, 2013 in order to receive federal aid.
- Students who ONLY register for Second Half classes may receive federal funds if there are no eligibility issues.
- Students who have withdrawn from a class prior to June 13th will not receive federal aid for that class.
- Students who completely withdraw from the term prior to June 13th will have their federal student aid award re-evaluated based on the number of days attended prior to withdrawal.
- Students who will reach the financial aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy maximum timeframe to receive financial aid at Georgia Perimeter College, hours may be adjusted if enrollment exceeds the maximum timeframe hour limit. Please review the financial aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy at http://depts.gpc.edu/~finaid/SAP.htm.
- Listed below are examples regarding the freeze date:
Scenario 1: Student initially enrolled in 8 credit hours prior to the freeze date, but added 4 credit hours after the freeze date. The student will be billed for 12 credit hours of enrollment and will only be eligible for 8 credit hours of financial aid. The student owes a balance due to Georgia Perimeter College.

The student will be billed for 6 credit hours of enrollment and will only receive financial aid for 3 credit hours. The student will not receive the loan because the enrolled hours on the freeze date were below the 6 credit enrollment hour requirement for Direct Loans. The student owes a balance due to Georgia Perimeter College.
