Satisfactory Academic Progress
SAP Standings
SAP status is evaluated at the end of each term of enrollment after grades are posted. A students' entire academic history is reviewed in determining the current SAP standing. A student may view his/her SAP standing on the Student Information System (SIS) at http://SIS.gpc.edu and notification is sent via letter mail and GPC student email account.
Listed below are SAP standings. Click the standing for the meaning.

Under review. This status is assigned to students whose academic progress must be reviewed and determined. Financial aid will not be awarded until status has been updated. |

Eligible for aid. A student is meeting all SAP standards and is eligible to receive financial aid. |
|
|
Eligible for aid. The first term that a student does not meet at least one of the SAP standards and the student is eligible for financial aid for the term. The student will be placed in a warning status and must meet all SAP standards during the term. If the student meets the standards he/she will continue to receive financial aid. If the student does not meet all the SAP standards, he or she will lose financial aid eligibility until all the SAP standards have been met for financial aid to be reinstated. |

Ineligible for aid. The second consecutive term that a student does not meet at least one of the Satisfactory Academic Progress standards. A student loses financial aid eligibility. A student with mitigating circumstance may submit a financial aid appeal to reinstate financial aid. A student that does not have a mitigating circumstance must pay for next term(s) of enrollment until he/she is meeting all Satisfactory Academic Progress standards. |

Eligible for aid. SAP appeal approved for 1 term for reinstatement of financial aid eligibility. At the end of term the student must be meeting all SAP standards. If the student meets the standards he/she will continue to receive financial aid. If the student does not meet all the SAP standards, he or she will lose financial aid eligibility. |

Eligible for aid. SAP appeal approved and student must follow the two term academic plan from the approved appeal. Financial aid eligibility is reinstated. At the end of the first term the student must be meeting the conditions of the first term on the academic plan to continue to receive financial aid. All students will be assigned a status of Academic Progress Under Review to determine if the academic plan was followed. If the student has met the conditions of the academic plan for the term, then he/she will be given a 1 Term Academic Probation status and receive financial aid for the term. If the student does not meet all the conditions of the academic plan, he or she will lose financial aid eligibility. |

Under Review. This status is assigned to students that have an approved appeal with an academic plan. A review is required at the end of each term of the academic plan to determine if the student has met the conditions of the academic plan. If the student has met the conditions of the academic plan for the term, then he/she will be given a 1 Term Academic Probation status and receive financial aid for the term. If the student does not meet all the SAP standards, he or she will lose financial aid eligibility. |

Eligible for aid. Student is meeting all SAP standards, but has attempted at least 70 hours and is approaching the 93 maximum attempt hours timeframe to receive financial aid at Georgia Perimeter College. Student is eligible for financial aid. |

Eligible for aid. Student has attempted at least 89 hours and is approaching the 93 maximum attempt hours timeframe to receive financial aid at Georgia Perimeter College. Student has 1 to 5 credit hours of financial aid eligibility remaining. |

The first term that a student does not meet at least one of the SAP standards and the student has attempted at least 70 hours and is approaching the 93 maximum attempt hours timeframe to receive financial aid at Georgia Perimeter College. If the student meets the standards he/she will continue to receive financial aid until the 93 maximum attempt hours is reached. If a student is in a program of study that requires more than the standard 62-64 hours, he/she may submit an appeal for additional hours of financial aid eligibility. |

Ineligible for aid. Student has reached or exceeded the 93 maximum attempt hours at Georgia Perimeter College and has submitted a financial aid appeal for additional hours. The appeal has been denied and the student is no longer eligible for financial aid at Georgia Perimeter College |

Ineligible for aid. Student has attempted at least 30 hours of Learning Support (LS), and it is the 2nd consecutive semester that at least one of the SAP standards was not met. Student is no longer eligible for financial aid. Student must exit LS courses and meet all SAP standards for financial aid to be reinstated. |

Eligible for aid. Student has attempted at least 24 hours of Learning Support (LS) and is approaching the 30 maximum attempt hours timeframe to receive financial aid on LS courses. Student is eligible for 1 to 5 credit hours of financial aid for LS courses. |

Eligible for aid. The first term that a student does not meet at least one of the SAP standards and the student is approaching the 30 maximum attempt hours timeframe to receive financial aid on LS courses at Georgia Perimeter College. Student is eligible for financial aid for the term. The student will be placed in a warning status and must meet all SAP standards during the term. If the student meets the standards he/she will continue to receive financial aid until the 30 maximum attempt hours is reached in LS. If the student does not meet all the SAP standards, he or she will lose financial aid eligibility. |

Eligible for aid. The first term that a student does not meet the SAP Pace standard of 67% within English as a Second Language (ENSL). The student is eligible for financial aid for the term. The student will be placed in a warning status and must meet all SAP standards during the term. If the student meets the standards he/she will continue to receive financial aid. If the student does not meet all the SAP standards, he or she will lose financial aid eligibility until all the SAP standards have been met for financial aid to be reinstated. |
