Students selected to participate in GPC's Bonner Leaders Program will also be recipients of the GPC Commitment to Service Scholarship.

Student Award:

• $500 per semester for 5 semesters -- can be applied to tuition, fees, and related expenses. Awards are disbursed at the beginning of each semester and are contingent upon completion of the previous semester’s requirements.
• $8.00/hr for Federal Work Study -- pending student eligibility and placement availability.
• $2,500 total AmeriCorps Educational Award -- pending student eligibility and federal funding -- to be released to student upon completion of program requirements. Award is good for seven years and may be used to pay current or future educational expenses or to pay off student loans.

Eligibility:

• 10 students total to begin each fall
• Recent high school graduate (must be a new student)
• Have a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 2.5
• Be eligible to file the FAFSA
• Demonstrate sustained service to community or significant familial responsibilities
• Submit a written application and attend an interview.

Expectations:

• Complete all program requirements as listed below
• Enroll as a full-time student (at least 12 credit hours) during fall and spring semesters
• Enroll in at least one course (3 credit hours) during the summer
• Earn a minimum 2.0 GPA by the end of second semester and maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 for the remaining three semesters
• Maintain satisfactory academic progress

Program Requirements:

• Use the Bonner Web-Based Reporting System (BWBRS) to log and track hours.
• Submit monthly hours logs.
• Participate in two terms of service as listed below:
