I graduated from High School in 1984 and went to the University of Georgia. Real life (work, marriage, that kind of stuff) got in the way, and five years later I was still a year short of graduation when my son was born. I dropped out to take care of him, and I eventually became a preschool teacher. Sixteen years later, my son was planning his college career, I was still a preschool teacher, I was getting paid a fraction of what I was worth, and I was still no closer to a college degree. That’s when I discovered GPC Online.
With online courses, I was able to take classes on my schedule without them interfering with my other commitments. GPC was able to transfer in most of my previous courses, so I realized that I was already pretty close to my Associates Degree. Even though I took my classes one at a time, in what seemed like no time at all, I was a college graduate! With my degree on my resume, a whole new world of opportunities opened up for me. I got a great job where I got to help people and build experience working in an office setting. Then I found a better job where I get to help other people fulfill their goal of a college degree. The work is rewarding, and the pay is great!
I couldn’t have done it without GPC Online. With commitments to family, work, church, and volunteering in the community, there was no way I could get to campus on a regular basis without neglecting the rest of my life. GPC Online made college possible for me. Thanks GPC Online!
